Is every snowflake different?

392 days to go...

My Friday night was spent catching up on watching all our hours of recordings from the V Plus box along me with me punching out, yes you've guessed it, more bloody snowflakes. I officially have an envelope full now which in my eyes is a great achievement, and I may even need to order my next lot of rice paper (now that I know the mad plan works). DLC did attempt to help me at one point, but he didn't even punch one snowflake before he gave up - although he did manage to put a hole in the rice paper. I think this tedious job may be a solo project.

As for other wedding related news, I emailed The Grange on Thursday to see how they were coming along with their new bedrooms (I am sooooo excited to see them!) and whether they would be ready for us to have a nosey at in December (we are planning to go up in December to check out a few florists and cake shops, I thought it was best to look at flowers that would be in season, also it will just be a nice day to look forward to) and this is the lovely reply I got from them:

"Hi Heather & Dave

Good to hear from you, no problem with lots of questions hopefully I can
answer!

The new extension is almost there just the last few bits & pieces to fine
tune so around December to call up should work out OK.

In the meantime, any thoughts/questions please do not hesitate to contact
me.
Kind regards
Angela "

There is no doubt in my mine that we have chosen the right venue to have our wedding - everything about it is perfect and I can't describe the feeling I get when I'm there, I feel like I've been transported through the wardrobe into Narnia!

A few other things that popped into my head, was the fact I had totally forgotten 'Project Sock' which I did a few months back. I really liked the idea of all the groom party (ha don't think this is officially their title but it sounds nice) to have personalised diamante socks to match our theme. But when I started searching on the old t'internet for suitable socks they were about £7.99 each - now when you add that up for 6 pair of socks or more it really does seem like a lot of pennies to spend on, well, socks! So I decided that I would buy a load of diamantes myself, arm myself with a pair of tweezers and make my own. The socks cost me about £1 each and the diamantes didn't come out as much as I didn't have to use many. Although this little project did take me a while it was quite satisfying to do, and now they are all wrapped up in tissue paper waiting in a drawer to complete their sock destiny. Below is a pic of the final wee sockies:

I have however now gone a bit customising mad and have decided to make the bridal parties t-shirts, pjs and tracksuits for the wedding (although it may just transpire that only my sister and I have enough lack of taste to wear them, but I say bring it on!). I know it sounds terribly tacky, but for some reason this idea really appeals to me and I can't wait to don a velvet tracksuit with "The Bride" written in glittering letters across my back. Well if you can't do it for your wedding, when can you? This is the typography I have chosen as I think it is very elegant and pretty:

The only other bit of news, is that I have managed to healthy eat for 3 whole days now! I didn't think it was possible after those two weeks in Cyprus, but I am officially back on the healthy eating wagon and have managed the gym twice already so feeling a lot better now. I think I will have to try my dress on soon as it has been packed away since 1st March (over 7 months!) and I need to get it out to check it is OK and to re-pack it so the healthy eating now should be rewarded then, ha at least I hope.

H x
